What other joys will the environmentally friendly try to dissuade average Americans from? It’s certainly not green to have children or pets. It’s not green to travel the world and learn about foreign cultures. It’s not green to have an afternoon at a museum or a symphony. But eliminating these things from our lives would not be living at all. If the green movement wasn’t so full of Debbie Downers, wouldn’t more people jump on board?
The problem is overpopulation; the green movement knows that to say that loses their good standing with the crowd.
So instead they focus on things that won’t help, but are politically acceptable. Stop taking all these plane flights! Turn off appliances! etc
While these aren’t bad ideas, they don’t solve the problem, so are irrelevant in the long term.
