• Joy Behar: Global Warming Could Stop Biden From Curing Cancer

  It appears Dear Old Joy Behar has been drinking the cooking wine again. Perhaps Meghan McCain doesn’t even need any. They produced the following stand-up comedy routine on a recent episode of The View.

  The hosts of ABC’s The View praised former vice president Joe Biden for promising to cure cancer if he’s elected in 2020, but they expressed worry that global warming could stop him. Co-host Meghan McCain, whose father Sen. John McCain (R., Ariz.) passed away from brain cancer last year, said cancer research should be central to candidates’ platforms. After the audience applauded, co-host Joy Behar said they shouldn’t be too enthusiastic about the prospect of ending cancer because global warming makes it “much more difficult.”

  “To that statement I would say that curing cancer is going to be much more difficult when there’s so much climate change and pollutants in the environment because a lot of cancer is environmentally caused and this president rolls back anything that will clean the air,” Behar said, without citing any particular policies. “They’re working against each other if they don’t also clean up the emissions.”

  McCain hopped back in to clarify that there’s no evidence global warming causes brain cancer. “They don’t know what causes brain cancer, for whatever it’s worth,” McCain said. Behar conceded that was true.
  

  I think cancer should be stopped too. We all concur. We’ll just give Joe Biden a lab coat and let him him dork around with flasks full of dangerous microbes. What could go wrong?

• Climate change: UK government to commit to 2050 target

  British PM Theresa May continues her embarrassing dotage on the world stage. Yesterday, she committed.

  Greenhouse gas emissions in the UK will be cut to almost zero by 2050, under the terms of a new government plan to tackle climate change. Prime Minister Theresa May said there was a “moral duty to leave this world in a better condition than what we inherited”. Cutting emissions would benefit public health and cut NHS costs, she said. Britain is the first major nation to propose this target – and it has been widely praised by green groups. But some say the phase-out is too late to protect the climate, and others fear that the task is impossible.
  

  This is funny. Three modern industrial nations have effectively lowered CO2 emissions in recent decades. The US, Japan and Germany. Two of them did it outside the context of a significant economic collapse. The US and Japan. Germany gets an asterisk because they reduced CO2 by letting hundreds of terrible East German industries fail back in the early 1990’s. Laying off a significant chunk of your workforce will cut CO2 emissions – not just from starvation.

  The British know they will fail miserably. They will embarrass and humiliate their nation by even trying. This is particularly true when the United States did the following:

  A) Refused to ratify either Kyoto or Paris
  B) Publically ridiculed much of the scientific basis upon which both treaties were based.
  C) Consistently grew the economy at rates between 1.5% to 3% every year.

  and

  D) Reduced industrial CO2 emissions in synonymy with growing industrial output in several recent years.

  This will not end well. If CongressTumor Fudge ain’t a-fudgin’ Civil War II will have to occur. You just can’t have people around that are Racist, Religious, Ignorant or Dumb, now can we?   Chinese companies are now doing what Japanese companies did in response to American Protectionism. Americans protect industries to protect employment, not to gratuitously insult foreign cultures. Japan got this quickly and found a way to cut a deal with Reagan way back when. When Toyota and Honda agreed to locate jobs with those firms in the US, we stopped hammering their products. The actual deals separated point of manufacture and assembly from where the corporate headquarters were located. Therefore, corporations that hired and invested here were treated more like domestic firms and not subjected to protectionist tariffs. The point being, we aren’t refighting old wars with Japan or China to refight old wars. (((Bill Kristol))) and the Neo-Cons do that. This is taking care of people. People you grew up with. People you may be related to. As Chinese companies figure this out, they’re government will have to decide just how regulated and command they want their economy to remain.

• The climate change socialists show their hand.

  …the climate change movement has nothing at all to do with the health of the planet and the environment in which we live and everything to do with power and the forced introduction of a global socialist system. In other words, take money from the poor and the middle classes and give it to the rich. That this has got to the point that it has is endemic not just of the collective gullibility of the population, but to the general falling away of organised religion.
  

  Environmentalism has given the socialists another avenue to do what they intend. Kill people and hork their stuff. When you take away access to energy, you ultimately deprive people of most of the freedoms we associate with the modern world. The ultimate, unacknowledged goal of all governance is slavery. They require it to control all the things they think they have to control. Those are the good and decent governments that still intend for you to live.

  Climate Change hysteria gives them the excuse to control carbon. Control carbon and you control all chemicals, such as petroleum and plastic; that derive from hydrocarbons. That puts you in charge of everything. Environmentalism is how you play Hitler or Stalin while wearing a cute, little Jack In The Green outfit and claiming to be good.

• Time to Take the Lead

  Religious and social conservatives, not classical liberals and libertarians, need to lead American conservatism. Our society is riven by identity politics. We are divided into economic winners and losers. Our leadership class drips with disdain for ordinary people in “flyover” country. Classical liberalism and the “neutral public square” that Bret Stephens and others champion cannot heal these wounds. Rights and procedural fairness, important as they remain, cannot move us forward. We need the language of covenant and solidarity—the natural language of religious and social conservatives.
  

  And then this article gets even better.

  A religious and social conservative sees a fitting role for government to play. Pro-family tax policies are needed, as are industrial policies that encourage the expansion of high-wage jobs that help working-class people escape the two-income trap. We must break up the tremendous concentrations of economic and cultural power in the Silicon Valley giants. Elite universities are the corrupt monasteries of our day. Their bloated endowments need to be taxed and their government subsidies reduced. The same is true for huge foundations and the billionaires who fund them. We need to phase out tax deductions for lifetime donations in excess of one billion dollars. These are properly political goals, properly conservative goals. If they run afoul of the preachments of Milton Friedman, then so be it.
  

  Deus vult. If the cucks lack the guts to get this done, it is time to go Knights Templar on them. A right without a soul is just another dicked-up Left.

  Classical liberalism detached from the warm bonds of solidarity is cruel. Liberalism operating without a biblical horizon is soulless. Liberalism detached from a substantive vision of the common good lacks civic nobility….It’s past time for leaders of the conservative movement to acknowledge that they’re part of the problem, promoting a right-leaning liberalism that is cruel, soulless, and lacking in civic nobility. It is time for religious and social conservatives to speak up and take the lead.

She has a long history of launching crusades against industries. She then frightens them into donating. Once her piggy bank is full, the mob abates. She’s done this to payday loan companies, Wall Street Brokerages and is now threatening Big Tech. It’s a living. Will it be a fat enough one to finance a successful primary campaign? Reality will dictate, but her chances are obviously better than 1 in 1024.

  peaking to Politico, the outgoing president of the European Union’s executive arm said that he believed the German chancellor, who is leaving her post in 2021, is a “loveable work of art” and when asked to elaborate on what style, he said: “Postmodern.” The Belgian politician was expanding on comments he made in April when he described the former Christian Democratic Union (CDU) as “a complete and endearing work of art” who was “highly qualified” for the top Brussels job.
  

  If by work of art, he means Lucian Freud….just maybe. Loveable?

  They are a disgrace. Even when they win, they are a national disgrace. Pull them home and let them stew. Their coach should be immediately fired for putting Meghan Rapinoe on the field after that detestable act of disrespect. Think of all the 22.5 chromosome, gender-confused, puce-haired freaks who missed out so that Rapinoe could get on the plane.

• Oberlin President Says College’s Deficit Is ‘Unsustainable … We Will Not Exist’

  Notice that all four of the Oberlin administrators named here — Ambar, Vazquez-Skillings, Raimondo, Varner — are women. Is that just a random coincidence or, as I suspect, is it a result of deliberate anti-male discrimination at Oberlin? Three of them (Ambar, Vazquez-Skillings and Varner) are women of color, and we might further suspect that this reflects anti-white prejudice at Oberlin, which could be of interest to the jury in Lorain County, which is 85% white. Given that this is a case involving Oberlin students making false accusations of racism against private business owners, do you think the jurors will be moved to sympathy by Ambar’s reference to the college’s “unsustainable” deficits? Oh, and Ambar is being paid more than $500,000 a year to preside over the social justice warrior training camp at Oberlin, while the annual median household income in Lorain County is $52,066. Where I come from, there’s an old saying, “Payback is a bitch.”
  

  Oberlin College had an easy way out. 1) Expel the dickwad students who harassed Gibson’s Bakery and accused them of racism. 2) Apologize profusely for that behavior and thank Gibson’s Bakery for all the awesome croissants. By backing these students and lending their institutional imprimatur to the behavior, they became the deepest set of pockets. That’s a bad thing to be once someone calls up a scum-sucking lawyer. If Oberlin College has a deficit, it’s a decency deficit and it’s about time their sorry #SJW rear-ends got made to bring a few accounts back into balance. Triple-damages – almost good enough.

  In a press conference Thursday afternoon, Pompeo said: “This assessment is based on intelligence, the weapons used, the level of expertise needed to execute the operation, recent similar Iranian attacks on shipping, and the fact that no proxy group operating in the area has the resources and proficiency to act with such a high degree of sophistication.” He charged that Iran is working to disrupt the flow of oil through the Strait of Hormuz and are a deliberate part of a campaign to escalate tension, adding that the U.S. will defend its forces and interests in the region, although he did not elaborate.

• Tonga keen to draft Folau for 2023 World Cup

  Perhaps a happy ending in the #SJW-fest over Israel Folau’s rather open and honest act of calling a butt-pirate a butt-pirate. Tonga has prepared to step in and cap him as a world cup player in 2023.

  Former Wallabies fullback Folau, who has Tongan heritage, had his four-year Australia contract torn up last month for posting on social media that hell awaited “drunks, homosexuals, adulterers” and other groups.

  The 30-year-old is fighting his termination in court. Having played the last of his 73 tests for the Wallabies in November, Folau would not be eligible to play for Tonga unless he sits out international rugby for three years and seeks to qualify for the Pacific island nation’s Olympic sevens program.
