Organized Religion Gives Way to “Pagan” Homebrew First Principles Spirituality

From that religious landscape study, an assessment of what people believe despite the ongoing stagnation of Abrahamist religions.

What this means: people generally believe in a divine layer to existence, a benevolent force to the universe, a soul or spirit, and persistence after death. This reflects health, where atheism and dualism reflect a fatalistic negativity toward existence itself.

In a time of technology, the idea of separate rules for Heaven and Earth (a theory called dualism or neoplatonism) no longer makes sense. We revert to the Platonic: Heaven and Earth emerge from the same ground of thought-like existence which is not removed from our world, but a larger part of it than our physical existence.

This comes from first principles or the idea that the universe is consistent, therefore very basic rules of how it works extend outward to all other areas, starting with the idea that it is consistent. That rejects the need for an imposed “truth” or symbolic Heaven where the rules are illogical.

Most would describe this as “pagan” because it rejects the idea of magic words religions and doctrines of universal acceptance and morals. Instead, it sees spirituality as a naturalistic force like gravity or rainfall, and with it, we escape the middle eastern voodoo superstition that has ruled us for too long.
