To answer a question that floated around in our comments —
When I speak of the aristocracy being restored, I think of people better than myself.
I would not volunteer for that job. No time off, ever. No plausible deniability. In fact, no one to blame. Yourself versus the hardest problems in the world, day after day. Endless public appearances. No holidays.
Never!
My ideal is a small cottage in the countryside. People show up and bring me hard problems at the behest of the aristocrats. I do my best, and give it my all, and through the acts of others improve my nation.
But aristocrat or monarch? That is much more difficult, and belongs to better men than I.
