People will just about do anything to avoid noticing the actual difference between Right and Left: the Right wants natural order, a type of realism based on achievement and known functional principles, and the Left wants equality, a type of individualism extended to a group.

All government systems are by their nature somewhat oppressive; if you make any choices, their opposites will be suppressed. The desire to be “left alone” or for libertarian anarchy blights the Right because it removes us from our actual goal of having a functional civilization.

In the meantime, as the world staggers toward the inevitable debt bomb and war, no one has positive faith in the system anymore, and we are all hanging on merely out of fear of what might come next, even as it becomes clear that socialism and diversity are non-functional.
