  Although this is a discrimination lawsuit, it was over a public freakout about COVID-19 masks and distancing. In the end, the jury found that the Black couple who complained got treated just like everyone else. Diversity privilege took a small hit today.

  As usual, altruism turns out to be self-serving manipulation. Perhaps the West is controlling the world through altruism, which it finds support for in egalitarian French Revolution politics as well as Christian ideas of human importance. We would do better to treat the third world like impoverished, lower average IQ, but choice-making people who can decide on what options are best for their own futures. We treat them like slaves now. Colonialism was at least honest, a quid pro quo based on social order being better for the third world than its previous anarchy. But instead we seduce them with aid and altruism while scheming to profit from it.
