  Trump picks another Amy Coney Barrett or Mike Pence; J.D. Vance, an Establishment conservative of Evangelical Christian background, has an Indian wife and is partially non-White. However he makes all the right noises about equality, Israel, and Jesus, which makes him less of a conservative than Bernie Sanders. “Proven conservative” means Establishment-safe Christian libertarian who will discard any chance of saving Western Civilization in an instant in order to prevent even one third-world abortion. Trump wants someone he can dispatch to the churches while real work gets done back at the White House. Trump is probably more actually Christian than the rest of the GOP in that he believes we have a duty to get our heads straight and make sure good wins over stupid, incompetent, insane, narcissistic, and pathological human behaviors.
