Diversity Failed to Save European Economies

As modern people, we are robots: we take instructions, deduct from them what is permissible, find the overlap with what we want, rationalize it according to the highest instructions we can find, and then hope that the system blesses us with acceptance of our pursuits of our desires.

This means that we follow precedent cascades. For example, if a society assumes equality as a value, any action which can be plausibly said to increase equality is viewed as the highest good, so people are programmed to make all of their activities seem like they advance equality.

When we robots encounter a crash, or paradoxical instructions, we simply double down. Whatever creates equality will be rewarded by others, even if incoherent or destructive, and in fact especially so, since incoherence and destruction further break down resistance to equality.

This means that when we are racing toward a brick wall, we cannot turn or stop, because the Crowd will attack us. Instead, we must argue that the brick wall is not a threat and we are in fact in the middle of progress toward Utopia through equality.

Beep.

Europe has been steadily ignoring warning signs for several decades that its policies of diversity, socialism, and democracy — all egalitarian ventures! — have not only failed to deliver what was promised, but are steadily making the population weaker, sadder, and less sane.

At this point, history has turned against diversity. The first step can be seen in the fact that diversity has not saved economies, and in fact has increased the tax burden that it was designed to defray, namely benefits already owed to retiring and dying Boomers:

Europe’s largest nation and its main growth engine has become the biggest drag on its economy.

At the heart of Germany’s weakness is its high reliance on manufacturing, a feature of its economy that many Western governments are now trying to replicate with industrial strategies aimed at protecting or nurturing national corporate champions.

A sharp rise in energy prices last year made producing goods more expensive. And with inflation and interest rates up around the world, foreign consumers can’t always afford the higher price tags.

Europe has been cruising on its brands for some time. The world knows Mercedes, BMW, Louis Vuitton, and Ferrari. They pay a premium for these names since Western Civilization is acknowledged as the creator of the political, legal, economic, and technological systems we all use today.

This has enabled Europe to sell its products abroad for a long time, with most going to China and other areas in the third world. It depends on its reputation for quality, performance, and style. As its workers get replaced by diversity, the competence crisis hits.

Its democratic leaders have their hands tied by precedent, including civil rights laws. They cannot abolish the benefits that keeps most of Europe getting by on doing little, or they get “Yellow Vests” style protests. They can only import more third world people, but this is not working.

With no options, the democratic leaders of Europe have doubled down on immigration and White Replacement:

From healthcare to IT, carpenters to technicians, Germany’s “help wanted” sign is blinking red. At a German industry event in mid-June, Chancellor Olaf Scholz promised business leaders that change was coming, and with less red tape.

Germany needs 400,000 foreign workers to make up the shortfall every year, according to the Federal Employment Office. And when the baby boomers retire en masse, the problem will only get worse.

They hope that by reducing quality and trading on the brand value of European goods, they can keep the flow of cash going long enough to pay off the socialist entitlements they already “owe” their citizens. This is like those plastic cars that Mercedes-Benz and BMW sell as entry-level models.

In the meantime, their native citizens have given up and spaced out. It is clear that democracy wants to use them as tax cash cows and then exterminate them, so they are all taking advantage of benefits, not exerting themselves, and basically dropping out of society.

Europe has become a nexus of hikikomori behavior where people isolate themselves from others, stay home as long as possible, and avoid marriage. Why have a wife when she will view you as a cash cow in a divorce proceeding? Why have kids when they will hate you for creating them in this failing place?

In the meantime, the refugees — those fleeing a difficult place for an easier place, in the hopes that this will solve all their problems — are increasing in number and they all want to come to Europe for the socialist free stuff from government:

The UNHCR’s global estimates of refugees and asylum-seekers worldwide reached 35.4 million by the end of May 2023.

In Europe, the number of refugees grew from seven million at the end of 2021 to 12.4 million at the end of 2022, as 5.7 million Ukrainians sought refuge in nearby countries.

The continent hosted more than one-third or 36 per cent of all refugees in the world.

Europe faces a difficult decision ahead: does it admit that it made a mistake, and reverse course to try again on a different path? Or does it simply keep walking the line to oblivion because anything else would require admitting that equality is a lie.
